Lee Ritenour OpenBorders 7/16/2011

I walked in as the opener was playing a piano tune.   He jammed out for a solid 10 minutes.  It was great- I wish I hadn’t been late to the show…

What an incredible band.  Melvin Davis on bass, John Beasley on piano, Ronald Bruner, Jr. on the drums, and Lee Ritenour on the guitar.    The played some nice, happy music and some incredibly hard-core jazz.   It was absolutely jamming.   Lee was very personable with the crowd and just seems like a real nice guy.  His introductions to the other members of his band were really cool.

Some fo it was so good that it was hard to believe my own ears. One of the best jazz concerts I’ve ever attended.

And to top it off, it was a beautiful evening.
